WHY THERMOGRAPHY & ULTRASOUND?
We all know that no breast test can provide 100% accurate results 100% of the time. Therefore a multi-modal approach is best. Thermography is wonderful at offering early detection because of its unique ability to monitor the 'functional' changes of breast tissue but it does not give a 'structural' view. Ultrasound gives the 'structural' view of the breast tissue, suspicious lump, or area of concern without radiation but does not examine the 'function' of the tissue and early stage disease processes like thermography. By monitoring the functional and structural views of your breast tissue you are undoubtedly increasing your chances of detection. Both screenings are beneficial for dense breasts and may increase your chances of detection from 48% to 97% than mammogram alone.
